Just a note

Don’t you just love getting a card in the post – that pretty handwritten loveliness - it makes such a welcome change from those horrid brown envelopes demanding money!

Well I was lucky enough to receive this lovely card from Monica for my birthday – isn’t it gorgeous!

Well all this got me thinking – and this was the result …

This set of note cards was made using Whisper White Love Notes, stamped with stamps from the Garden Silhouettes and Warm Wishes sets using Rose Red and Tempting Turquoise Inks and card stock. I did tell you I love this colour combination!

The cover was made from an oval of the lovely Rose Red Designer Papers, folded and then sealed with some Tempting Turquoise ribbon.

I am pleased with how these came out and think I may make some sets for people as presents. If you want to make a set for yourself or as gifts don’t forget that until the end of this month the Stampin' Up! Papers are on special offer (four packs for the price of three) and that I am offering free post and packing for this period – so hurry and place your order.

I have also been busy making lots of Thank You cards – about 30 of them – I have a lot of people to thank for their support and kindness as I have moved away from my old life.

I'm not dead yet!

I have had a very lazy week so far and have enjoyed it a lot! It was my birthday on Wednesday and I became member of the Wii owners club – what took us so long? Well now I can prove that I am useless as virtual sports as well as at the real thing!

In the evening we went to see this.

It is brilliant – if you find Monry Python even vaguely amusing you will find this really funny. We had a great evening and coming home our sides hurt with laughing – and no we are not dead yet!

I have been feeling a little unfocussed this week so I decided yesterday to make myself a nice book to write my to do lists in. Does anyone else feel lost without a to do list? I am odd to feel pleased that I lasted almost a week without one :-/

Anyway I took a little notebook I have had for a while and covered the front and back with some very pretty turquoise and red papers – one of my favourite combinations at the moment! Inside I have put some diary pages printed from my computer and mounted on more of the papers. The pages that follow will be my to do lists. The papers are from Stampin' Up!

Don’t forget there is a special offer on Stampin' Up! Papers this month – order three packs and get the fourth for free. If you combine this with my Post and Packing Party offer you will also get your packs of paper delivered to you free. The papers are beautiful, good and heavy and fantastic to work with – you can see the full range by clicking on the picture of the catalogue on the right of this blog and turning to pages 72 and 73.

I have also made a card this week – we have a friend who is in hospital and this is to wish her well.
The Stamps used are from the Stampin' Up! Roses in Winter Collection. They were coloured with my Stampin' Up! Marker Pens which meant I could use more than one colour on each of the stamps in the smaller roses, still giving them a really nice depth. The colours used are Perfect Plumb, Pale Plumb, Pretty in Pink and Sage Shadow. The ribbon was originally white but the markers soon changed that!

I hope you are having a great week too. Thanks for stopping by.

PS Don’t forget it is not too late to join in my Party Game of Pass the Parcel – just leave a comment or send me an email for you chance to win a special prize! You can enter as many times as you like.

Changes

This has been the week where everything changes for me – lots and lots of goodbyes, some very kind comments from what are now ex colleagues, a strange mix of excitement and tears and lots and lots of beautiful flowers!

Yes there really are three very large bouguets! There has been lots of packing up and moving of boxes and a little bit of unpacking (still lots of that to do!)

This weekend I also found a copy of September’s Crafts Beautiful – as well as some lovely projects inside there is a free copy of the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. The catalogues are normally £5.95 each making it worth getting the magazine just for that! Now my offer to you is that if you find the magazine without the Stampin' Up! Idea book and catalogue email me by clicking here, letting me know where you got your copy of the magazine and I will send you a copy f the idea book and catalogue free (limited stock available). Don’t forget if you then place an order with me before the end of August post and packing will be free!
Its not too late to join the game of virtual pass the parcel - see the post below

Party Games and Cup Cakes

Party month continues to be very hectic – several real life celebrations, including a big celebration for the team I have been working with for the last 10 months. We all had a great time and I was impressed by the number of people who knew all the dance steps for YMCA!

Make sure you read to the bottom of this post for your chance to win a prize

Last night I was at a joint birthday party so I had the excuse to make two birthday cards using the great sketch from Taylor Vanbruggen’s Cupcake Challenge

The first card uses the Garden Silhouettes and Circle of Friendship sets from Stampin Up!

For the second I could not resist getting my Bella Stamps out again – Winobella could have been designed for the friend that this card is for! I love the flower with the pearl in the middle. All the other supplies are Stampin Up! I love the way you can colour the white ribbon to get the colour you need!

Your chance to win ...
Now we are in the second week of the Lighthouse Party and I think its about time we started the party games … One of my favourite party games is pass the parcel. I love watching peoples faces as they unwrap presents and so this game works well for me – everyone wondering if the music will stop when they have the parcel and if it does what they will find when they unwrap a layer. Who will win the prize in the middle? What will it be?

So who would like to play a virtual game of pass the parcel?

There are three ways you can enter
1. Leave a comment on my blog this month
2. send me an
email this month
3. place an order with me this month

At the end of the month I will sit and listen to the radio, while reading a list of names of the people who have entered. You can enter as many times and as many ways as you like – each comment/email/order will be added to the list I will read. The name I am reading when the music stops will be the winner.

Now like the real game you wont know exactly how many prizes there will be or what they are but I can tell you that there will be at least 3 …

I would love to know what your favourite party game is.

I look forward to your comments and adding you to the pass the parcel list!
