Back in Blogland

Hello there! Remember me?

As some of you may know so far this has not been a good year for me so far. I am sure that it will get better, but right now life is very hectic and I am not getting much time to craft.

That is until today! I have the house to myself. Rather excitingly I have my first card commission – some Thank You cards, so I am busy making those.

In the meantime here are some of my recent cards – all now at their new homes!

Lets start with once that uses the Mojo Monday Sketch you can find on Julee's Poetic Artistry Blog

And here are the rest (and yes there are lots of leaving cards for people at work!)

Thanks for stopping by – I look forward to seeing you all again soon – I will be back with some more exciting news soon

Whole lot of Bella going on!

How are you all? I would love to hear what you have planned for the weekend? Tomorrow is haircut day for me and then we are off to a Ball in the evening - I am looking forward to getting all dressed up and seeing friends!

Here are some more of the cards I made last weekend - these have either arrived or are on their way to their new homes so I can share them with you.

Definitly a Bella thing going on!

To be truthful this last one wont be there yet but I know my Dad does not read my blog so the surprise wont be spoilt!

There are still three more cards I made last weekend to show you but you are going to have to wait to see them as their intended recipients have not got them yet.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

One of those months ...

Do you ever have one of those months when there are lots of birthdays and you need cards for lots of other things too?

Most of the cards I made last weekend have gone to their new homes and today I have made another 6! So for now I am going to show you the ones from last weekend.

Firstly a birthday card – similar design to the one I showed you last weekend – two of the papers are same but I love how different they look in this combination.
There are lots of people leaving from work at the moment – the first was for a friend who showed me where there is a craft shop near work – she loves to paint. Its not colours I would normally choose but I love these papers (more cards with them to come another time!).

I had a lot of fun colouring in this second one – love this stamp.

This weekend was also the wedding of the butterfly bride – well she is not a butterfly but you know what I mean! It was a lovely day, warm and, while we were by the church, dry. The Bride looked lovely, the 7 (yes I counted twice) bridesmaids were beautiful and the guys all looked great in their suits and co-ordinating waistcoats.

Here is the bride’s bouquet and the bridesmaid’s flowers

And to finish for this, rather long post, here is the card I made them for their wedding. Sorry the picures have not come out that welll - my camera has not coped well with the pearlescent paper :-/

We have had some lovely weather today – sunny but with a cooling breeze. I hope you have had a beautiful day too.

Love is in the air

Well we have not had any sunshine here, and there has certainly been a lot of rain in the air here!

I went to a hen night last night – here is the cards I made for the bride to be
.

I love the look of acetate cards but where to put the message is always a challenge, so for this card I made a pocket at the back and added a co-ordinating tag that I could write on.

A year ago today some good friends of ours got married and so I used the same stamp again to make an anniversary card for them. I have also been busy making some other cards – two for friends who are leaving work and a couple of birthdays. I can only share one of them – the others have yet to be delivered. Dont tell anyone but this is the first time I have actually used a button on a card!

So hoping your weekend has been full of love.

Missing in Action?

Hello there – remember me? Sorry I have been somewhat missing in action. I have been searching for my mojo – it seems to have gone walk about!

In less than 3 weeks two friends of mine will be married. I made their wedding invites as their wedding present and this week I have been making the menu covers and the orders of service. So I made these, and then quite a few more like them. What is the collective noun for butterflies?
I quite like the idea of a flutter of butterflies’ but Wikipedia offers some alternatives – a rabble, a swarm, a flight, a rainbow or a kaleidoscope. I think these would be a rabble since the pieces of paper were not that well behaved!

While I enjoyed making these I did not get a creative buzz from them, so I set myself a challenge. One Stamp, one basic layout, two 6x6 pieces of patterned paper that you don’t love yet and white cards bases to make four cards that are as different as possible.

Here is what I came up with.

What a Weekend

We have just had a three day weekend here in the UK and I have really appreciated the extra day. Unusually the weather had been glorious as well.

The weekend has been very busy - lots of time with friends and lots to do at home. I still managed to find some time to create so some things for you to look at. Some have gone to their intended recipients, some have not. I don’t think any of the other people I have been making for read this blog – least I hope not or the surprise will be ruined!

So first is a Bella … I adore this Basic Grey paper and this image.

Recently, inspired by Monica’s lovely creations I subscribed to the GoGoGreetings Kit. My first one arrived this week and the papers are lush. I do have to admit however that I struggled to know where to start with it. Inspiration struck however after a walk among the bluebells!
Once I got started I really enjoyed myself. Here are what I have come up with so far

Have a great week. Thank for stopping by

And Now For Something Completely Different

I just love Monty Python … but I digress even by my standards!

Earlier this week I met the lovely Shelia from Cobalt Lillya new jewellery design company – look at the lovely ring she made me. I love it and as soon as her web site is up and running I will give you a link …

Anyway it inspired me to share with you some of my creations

The big one was made a while ago – I just loved this big bead when I saw it and somehow it just jumped into my shopping basket! The other two were made last night – while watching how not to work in the card business courtesy of the Apprentice. The Apprentice has to be one of my favourite programmes at the moment along with the follow up programme on BBC2 with Adrian Childs.

I am looking forward to the long weekend – fingers crossed for some great weather and for some good crafting time. I hope to catch up with lots of friends and I have quite a few cards to make for the next couple of weeks. I had better get busy!
